Thursday evening brought with it the news of the death of Marianne Faithfull, the esteemed entertainer/singer/actor also known for her involvement with Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones.
After it was made official that Faithfull had passed away at the age of 78, Jagger took to social media to share a heartfelt reflection:
“I am so saddened to hear of the death of Marianne Faithfull. She was so much part of my life for so long. She was a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer and a great actress. She will always be remembered.”
Jagger, of course, at one point dated Faithfull, and he and Keith Richards co-wrote her debut hit single, 1964’s “As Tears Go By,” alongside Stones producer Andrew Loog Oldham.
